About Us
We built the service we wished existed the last time we hired a contractor.
The Project Desk is a Colorado-based project coordination service. We help homeowners plan their home projects, match them with vetted local pros, and get the right pro on their calendar — without their information ever being sold.
The Story
Why The Project Desk exists
Before starting this company, our founder spent years inside the home improvement sales world — and saw exactly what happens to your information when you fill out a form on most home services websites.
It gets sold. Usually to four or five contractors at once, sometimes resold again after that. Your phone starts ringing within minutes, and it doesn't stop for weeks. You end up screening calls from companies you've never heard of, repeating your project details over and over, and wondering which of these strangers — if any — you can actually trust in your home.
The frustrating part? That system isn't broken. It's working exactly as designed — for the platforms selling the leads. It's optimized for their revenue, not for you, and not even for the contractors, who pay for every contact whether it goes anywhere or not.
The Project Desk was built to flip that model. We do the legwork a homeowner shouldn't have to do: we vet the pros, ask the qualifying questions, and get the right pro on your calendar. You choose whether to meet one vetted pro or compare a few — and you know exactly who's coming and when. Nobody else ever gets your information.
We began with basement finishing and windows first and are expanding carefully into other major home projects, including roofing and outdoor living. Done right before done fast.

What we actually do
We're not a contractor, and we're not a lead seller. We're the desk that coordinates your project search from first question to confirmed appointment.
1
We qualify your project
A short conversation about scope, timeline, and budget — so the pros who show up are the right fit and arrive prepared.
2
We match vetted local pros
You choose whether to meet one pro or compare a few. Every match is screened, insured, and established in your part of Colorado.
3
We get it on your calendar
Confirmed dates and times on real calendars — with names you'll recognize when they reach out. From there, it's yours to decide with.
The Founder
Who's behind The Project Desk
Mike Founder · Littleton, Colorado
Mike founded The Project Desk after a decade in construction and years in residential solar sales — long enough inside the industry to see exactly how homeowners get treated the moment they fill out a form. He lives in the Littleton/Denver area and built The Project Desk to be the service he'd want his own neighbors to use: local, honest, and never a lead-selling machine.
"I started The Project Desk because I got tired of watching good homeowners get handed off to whoever paid the most for their phone number. That's not how I'd want my own family treated, so it's not how we do it. When you reach out, you talk to real people, you meet a contractor we'd trust in our own home, and your information stays yours." — Mike
Our promises
What we promise homeowners
These aren't marketing lines — they're the rules the business is built on.
You stay in control
Meet one vetted pro or compare a few — your call. We'll never decide for you, and we'll never send your project to anyone you didn't agree to meet.
You'll know exactly who's coming
Before anyone contacts you, you'll know the pro's name, their company, and when your appointment is. No surprise calls from companies you've never heard of.
Your information is never sold
Your details go only to the pros you're scheduled with. Not to call lists, not to data brokers, not to 'partners' you didn't ask for.
It's free, with no obligation
Homeowners never pay us. Whatever the pros put together for you is yours to take wherever you want — and if you don't move forward at all, that's completely fine.
Who makes it into our network
Every pro meets these standards before we send them a single appointment.
Credentialed & insured
Current general-liability insurance and a verified contractor credential, checked before they join. Contractors are required to maintain the licenses, registrations, and permits their work calls for.
Established in Colorado
A real local track record — not a national chain, and not an out-of-state crew chasing the latest hail storm.
Accountable to us
We track how appointments go. Specialists who show up late, unprepared, or unprofessional don't stay in our network.
